Read the sales analysis
Top products, top parties, collection status and payment mix.
Reports are for your accountant. Sales Analysis is for you: the same data, on screen, arranged to answer the questions you actually ask about the business.
Who can do this
adminsuper_adminstaffview_salesWhat each panel tells you
| Panel | The question it answers |
|---|---|
| Invoiced vs Collected | How much did we bill this period, and how much of it actually came in? |
| Top Products | What is selling, by revenue — and by implication, what is not. |
| Top Customers | Which parties drive the business, with each one’s share and average invoice value. |
| Collections Status | Of the invoices raised in this period, what has been settled and what is still outstanding. |
| Sales by Payment Mode | How much of your business is credit, and how much is cash, UPI or transfer. |
Reading it well
- Compare like with like. A part-month against a full month always looks like a collapse. Use whole months.
- Watch the gap, not the totals. Invoiced rising while collected stays flat is the earliest warning you get that receivables are slipping.
- Look at the bottom of Top Customers, not just the top. A party who used to be in the top five and is not any more has usually started buying somewhere else.
- Check Outstanding (period) against the age of the bills. Recent outstanding is normal trading; old outstanding is a collection problem.
Note
Sales Analysis covers sales and collections. Stock value and low-stock warnings live on the dashboard, and the line-by-line detail lives in the reports.
Keeping the figures off a shared screen
If this screen is on a counter where customers can see it, the dashboard figures can be covered by default — see Hide dashboard figures.
