Sign in to your account

Getting an account, signing in, and resetting a forgotten password.

How you get an account depends on your kind of business. Freelancers and solo professionals can sign up on their own in a few minutes. Distributors, pharmacies, print shops and other trading businesses are set up by our team, configured for their trade.

Getting an account in the first place

Freelancers and solo professionals: sign up yourself

  1. 1

Go to the sign-up page and choose Freelancer or solo professional as your kind of business.

  2. 2

Fill in your business details, then your own name, username, mobile number and a password.

The state matters: it decides whether your invoices charge CGST + SGST or IGST.

  3. 3

Enter the 6-digit code we email you.

Nothing is created until the code is right, so a typo in your email address never uses it up. The code is valid for 15 minutes.

  4. 4

You are signed straight in, as the admin of your new account, on the free plan.

Every other business: request access

  1. 1

Go to the sign-up page, choose your kind of business, and send your company name, email and phone number.

  2. 2

Our team contacts you, sets up the business for your trade and creates the first admin login.

  3. 3

You get an email with a code and a link to choose your own password. The link works for 72 hours.

Nobody at TracEasy ever knows your password.

  4. 4

Your admin then manages roles, passwords and access for everyone else.

Signing in with a password

  1. 1

    Go to the login page.

  2. 2

Enter your email address or your username, and your password.

  3. 3

Select Login. You land on the dashboard.

Forgot your password

Passwords are stored one-way, so nobody — not your admin, not us — can read yours back. You set a new one instead.

  1. 1

On the login page, select Forgot password?

  2. 2

Enter the email address or username you log in with, and select Email me a code.

The code always goes to the email address on your account — never to one typed on the screen. The page says the same thing whether or not the account exists, so it can’t be used to find out who has one.

  3. 3

Enter the 6-digit code and choose a new password.

The code is valid for 15 minutes. Five wrong tries locks it; ask for a new one.

  4. 4

Log in with the new password.

Every device that was signed in is signed out, and we email you to say the password changed. If one-time codes are on for your account, they still apply.

Can’t reach that inbox?

An admin in your business can set a new password for you from your user page instead.

Signing in with a one-time code

If an admin has switched on one-time codes for your account, the password is only the first step.

  1. 1

Enter your email and password as usual.

  2. 2

A six-digit code is sent to you. Type it into the screen that appears.

The code works once and expires after ten minutes. Ask for a fresh one if it runs out.

Sign in with Google

If your account’s email address is a Google account, you can use the Sign in with Google button instead of typing a password. You are signed in with exactly the same roles and access.

Google sign-in never creates an account

If the Google address is not already a user in TracEasy, sign-in is refused and you are told to contact your administrator. Adding the address as a user first is what makes it work.

If you cannot get in
